Iran shatters Israel’s “Iron Dome,” colonial powers scramble
by MQ, Staff Writer
On Friday, June 13, the illegitimate Zionist occupation entity called Israel which has committed and continues to commit a genocide against Palestinians in occupied Palestine, viciously bombed Iran, martyring Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists.
Israel has bombed the whole West Asia region, inflicting terror, misery, starvation, murder, torture and brutality, gleefully fulfilling its role as a military outpost of the U.S.
For decades, Israel has been able to act with impunity, not having been dealt a heavy consequence since Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006 and since the Palestinians’ powerful prison break Al-Aqsa Flood in 2023.
So when Israel assaulted Iran, which has resulted in 935 Iranians dead and over 5,000 injured, this was just everyday colonial aggression.
Iran strikes back
Colonizers and even demoralized colonial subjects were not expecting Iran to strike back as hard as it did. Iran dealt a powerful blow to the Zionist occupation entity. On June 13, Iran began True Promise 3–Iran’s codename for its response to Israel.
Iran targeted key Israeli military sites with 21 waves of regular missiles, hypersonic missiles, extremely destructive large missiles, and drones, in Occupied Palestine including the military headquarters “Kirya,” the oil refinery at Haifa, the port of Haifa, power plants, military residences at “Rishion LeZion,” petrochemical plants, an F-35 plane, the Weizmann Institute of Science, “Bat Yam,” “Kiryat Gat,” Nevatim Airbase, “Bnei Brak”, the Israeli Stock Exchange,“Beersheba”, and the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar.
Strong impact of Iran's counteroffensive
Though Israel forbade Israelis to share footage of Iran’s attacks, the footage and images indeed got out and it has decisively shattered Israel's aura of invincibility.
There are husks of buildings in Tel Aviv looking indistinguishable from Gaza, and craters where there were streets. The first week alone cost Israel $5 billion.
Many commenting on social media understand this as Israel receiving a small taste of what they have inflicted on Palestinians and other Arabs engaged in anti-colonial resistance through every single day for months, years and decades.
Strategic significance of Iran's response
Iran did not embark on confronting the Zionist entity haphazardly. Iran struck with the aim of hampering Israel's military capacity to conduct airstrikes, its capacity to further AI, drone guidance, cyber defense technology, advanced weapons development and its energy.
10,000 Israelis are no longer residing in the homes that they had brutally wrenched from the Palestinians. 600,000 Israelis have fled to Cyprus, where they have established Israeli-only gated communities, alarming Cyprus residents.
Iran hit residential areas because Israel, a genocidal state which doesn't even care about its own, places military targets in Israeli residential neighborhoods, using its own people as human shields.
The Knesset held its meeting in underground bunkers. As Israelis became more desperate to flee to safety, the Israeli Transport Ministry forbade them from leaving by plane. Israel admits that in Israel, 28 have been killed and more than 1,300 have been injured.
Iran's warning to colonial powers
Israel has committed war crimes against Iran, like bombing a hospital, and it set up a sabotage network of Mossad agents and drone manufacturing sites in Iran to cause chaos, overthrow the rightful government and destroy Iran.
Iran issued evacuation orders for the settler neighborhood of “Bnei Brak” on June 16, demonstrating it has the power to put Israelis on the defensive.
Iran has arrested over 27 Mossad agents, 19 Indian collaborators with Israel, and has expelled 2 Indian diplomats. Iran uncovered drone manufacturing sites, severely limiting Israel’s ability to attack Iran.
Cessation of hostilities, not ceasefire
After 12 days of Iran pummeling Israel, U.S. president Trump abruptly declared a ceasefire and tried to spin it as a U.S.-Israel victory. But Iran has made it clear it's not a ceasefire, and that it was Israel who asked for the ceasefire. Iran has been getting ready for the next round of active war against the Zionist entity.
Not Iran vs. Israel, but world colonial powers
Iran is not fighting Israel alone; it's fighting all the colonial powers. Iran stopped a British ship that was on its way to assist Israel. France shot down Iranian drones. U.S. president Trump’s administration had prior knowledge of Israel's attack on Iran, having sent 500 Hellfire missiles, transferring the USS Nimitz destroyer ship from the South China Sea to West Asia, and the U.S. directly bombed the mountain that protects Iran's nuclear facilities.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Iran was planning to assassinate Trump, in a desperate ploy to get the U.S. to enter the war directly and ensure Netanyahu's political and actual survival. Chillingly, Israel was planning a false flag within U.S. borders.
But just as Iran is not only fighting Israel, Iran is not alone. There is Yemen, which participated in the counteroffensive, and Palestine. Though Palestine is still enduring genocide in Gaza and the West Bank at the hands of the increasingly petty and ruthless Israelis, who arrested Palestinians who celebrate Iran's attacks and brutalize Palestinian prisoners as acts of petulant vengeance, Palestinians still heroically resist, and Iran's efforts have strengthened the Palestinian resistance, enabling the Palestinian resistance to force Israeli withdrawals from Khan Younis. The U.S. has used up 15-20% of its THAAD interceptor missiles, costing over $800 million.

The side Africans and colonized people must take is obvious
Africans and other colonized people must stand with Iran. The same Zionist occupation entity (Israel) trains the U.S. domestic police, which torture, kill, terrorize, and kidnap black and Indigenous people daily.
Colonel Ben Jonsson oversaw U.S. operations in the Gaza genocide and is using those same tactics in North St. Louis, where the Uhuru Movement and Black Power Blueprint are trying to transform the colonial conditions of the Black community there.
So when Iran bombs Tel Aviv or Haifa, we should be optimistic that colonialism can and WILL be defeated!
Onward with the worldwide anti-colonial struggle!
